Launch of 12 Traitsİ Beta Test and Public Comment Period at Sixth Annual Meeting

GreeningUSA created some real excitement at their Sixth Annual meeting on May 26 by announcing the launch of the 12 Traits© Community Rating System Beta Test Self Assessment Manual and Public Comment Period.  The Syracuse Post-Standard picked up the story on May 27, and again in their editorial section on Sunday, May 30.

Our keynote speaker this year was Sandra Barrett from the Onondaga Citizens League.  Sandra spoke about the history of the Onondaga Citizens League, the many valuable studies they have undertaken, including “Rethinking I-81” and “Government Consolidation”, as well as this year’s study titled, “What Does It Mean to be Green in CNY?”  This year’s committee continues to meet to finalize their recommendations based on all the information collected during the past year, and those recommendations should be made public within the next few months.  GreeningUSA is proud to be a member of that committee.

And, GreeningUSA’s annual “Greening Our Community” 2009 awards were presented to the following individuals and organizations who are leading their communities toward sustainability:
